Registration fees are paying for the track we are renting only, uniforms and competition fees are not included. Competition will all be far travel (many in Virginia Beach) and all travel and fees will need to be covered by families.

Your child cannot attend practice until you have filled out the application form, and turned in a current physical as well as a birth certificate (if your child is a returning athlete you do not need to resubmit birth certificate; if the athlete’s physical is current, you do not need to resubmit-but we will require an updated physical form as soon as it is no longer current.)

PRACTICES

When and where are practices?

Indoor Season November 1, 2022-March 5, 2023:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 6:30-8 pm

Lyons Park indoor facility https://www.dprplaymore.org/Facilities/Facility/Details/Community-Family-Life-Recreation-Center--85

Are practices mandatory?

Each practice is fundamentally important. We would like the athlete to attend as many practices as possible; however, we understand that extenuating circumstances may occur. If the athlete needs to miss a practice for any reason, the coaches can give them a workout so they can practice on their own. The harder the athlete works in practice, and on his or her own outside of practice, the better they will perform in meets.

How will practices look?

Early season begins with conditioning workouts. Each practice will start with warm-ups, drills, and then event specific workouts. Although our program is competitive, we will accommodate the different age groups and experience levels. We desire for this to be a fun experience for all participants, so we will be creative in making practice enjoyable; however, we will challenge our athletes to push themselves to do things they may have never done before.

COMPETITION/MEETS

Coaches will determine as soon as possible what the official TCTC competitions will be for the season and they will be posted on this page; we have to wait until the meets are posted and sometimes this can be unpredictable.

To learn about possible competition venues visit https://coachoregistration.com/dbi-bin/calendar.pl

If you would like your athlete to have extra competition opportunities, your child may compete independently (without a coach) at any event, but it is good to discuss this with the coaches.

Coaches for Indoor: Dennis Alston, Liz Snoh, Cheryl Bowden

Events: Indoor does not have all the same events as Outdoor, and if field events are your main interest, you should speak with the coaches about how training, practice and competition will work. If there is a specific event you are interested in and want to know more information, reach out to the coaches!

*Uniforms, T-shirts, USATF & AAU Memberships are not included in the registration fee*

**Championship qualifying meet entry fees are included in the registration fee**
